Fear
I had always been scared of worms. I guess it's a common fear among girls. However, as we were walking in La Asomadera Park, Medellin, Colombia we came across this super strange looking worm. My first reaction was a little jump back, but not of fear, instead it was surpise. It amazed me, seeing it just hanging from an almost invisible string. I'm not an expert or anything like that, but I think it was going to be eaten by a spider. That my friends, is real fear. It made me think: We human beings develop these irrational fears for some defenseless creatures -cockroaches are the exception, especially if they fly. Spiders too. Some can actually kill you- and we don't get to think that these creatures are actually more scared of us than we of them. It reminds me of our postion in this world as human beings: We are the biggest predator of nature, we are even considerd "Superpredators". At the end, who is actually to be afraid of?
Unexpected newborn
I saw this one growing since the beginning and never payed attention to it. It took Dennis to see it and takes pictures of it for me to actually realize how beautiful this was. When I see this photo I can only think how beautiful nature is and how strong can it be. Plants can grow everywhere, even in a little hole of a metallic sink. They adapt to every condition in the planet, desserts, snowy valleys, under water, swamps, they even burst in concrete!!! We never think in the beautiful process of a plant growing from a tiny seed to a beautiful tree or bush. This previous winter I complained about how gray everything was and it never came to my mind about having plants in the house, so this winter we will grow some plants, they don't only look beautiful but also give the apartment a total different vibe. So we will let you know how this went ;)
